Exámenes de rutina
Los exámenes de rutina son importantes para mantener su salud oral.
During the exam the dentist will evaluate your overall oral health by visually inspecting the inside of your mouth. Your bite and jaw will also be examined. X-rays may be taken. If the dentist identifies an area of concern, he or she will develop a treatment plan to address those issues. At the conclusion of the exam, the dentist or hygienist will perform a cleaning and remove stains or deposits.
Rayos X
Utilizamos un sistema de rayos X digital de última generación para ver el interior de un diente, debajo de las encías y otras áreas que no son visibles a simple vista.
We use a state-of-the-art, portable x-ray system (which uses less radiation than a traditional x-ray machine) to see inside a tooth, beneath the gums, and other areas not visible to the naked eye. X-rays are required for all new patient appointments unless radiographs taken within the previous six months by another provider are transferred to us in advance.

Our cleanings involve the removal of plaque, stains, and calculus that has developed on or just below the gum line. A patient diagnosed with gum disease may require a “deep cleaning,” a treatment that involves scraping the roots of a tooth to remove bacteria and tartar. Failure to remove bacteria and buildup can lead to more serious issues like gingivitis and periodontitis.

A filling is a tooth-colored plastic mixture used to restore a tooth damaged by decay back to its normal function and shape. We clean and prepare the affected area and place high-quality composite materials to fill the remaining cavity, both of which help prevent further decay.

When a tooth has a cavity or crack that encompasses half the width of the tooth or more, it often needs a crown, also known as a “cap”. Cracked or decay ridden teeth are usually so weak to be restored any other way, so a crown – which covers the entire tooth – is placed. The crown itself is designed to save what is left of a tooth and prevent further degradation.

A bridge is typically used to fill gaps left by missing teeth. Bridges are cemented to natural teeth or implants surrounding the space where the tooth or teeth once stood. Gaps caused by missing teeth often cause remaining teeth to shift, which can cause undue stress on other teeth as well on jaw joints.
Extracciones

If a tooth has been broken or damaged by decay, our dentist will try to fix it with a filling, crown, or other dental treatment. But when there is too much damage for a tooth to be repaired, the tooth may need to be extracted – or removed – from its socket. Our doctor is able to perform simple surgical extractions on-site.
Canal raíz

A root canal is a treatment to repair and save a badly damaged or infected tooth. The procedure involves removing the nerve or pulp of the tooth, cleaning and disinfecting the area, and then filling and sealing it. Our portable operatory allows us to perform root canals easily and safely.
Examen de cáncer bucal
Your dentist or hygienist will look for signs of oral cancer as part of your regular exam. He or she will feel the area under your jaw, the sides of your neck, and the insides of your lips and cheeks, as well as examine the sides of your tongue and the roof and floor of your mouth, looking for lesions or areas of concern. An oral cancer screening is performed at every visit by either a hygienist or dentist. It is non-invasive and comes at no additional cost.
